Interlect vocabulary is divided in four kind of vocabularies:
- Core vocabulary
- includes all grammatical particles and a few semantic words.
- Basic vocabulary
- is the vocabulary needed for common communication in general contexts by
people. It includes core vocabulary. Basic vocabulary is taken,
as is, from Lingua Franca Nova,
plus the added grammatical particles that are part of the core vocabulary.
- Common specialized vocabulary
- includes vocabulary for different semantic fields: names of countries, parts
of the body (non-medical), common animals, etc. Sources of this vocabulary
include Lingua Franca Nova, Interlingua (the Interlingua-English Dictionary)
and other natural languages.
- Technical specialized vocabulary
- includes de vocabulary used in any particular field of a science or technique.
Vocabulary specialized for physics, chemistry, medicine, economy, engineering,
etc.
