Artspelled English is a Spelling reform for English. It is based on elimination of most diagraphs (except those for "long" vowels), and it is based mostly on Latin Extended-A character code, plus ASCII and Latin-1 characters and a few Latin Extended-B.
This Hypertext page uses extensively Unicode references from HTML (those in the form ā for ā).
Most consonant diagraphs are spelled using a single character. Acute marks palatization, as in ć, ǵ, or ś. This applies to diagraphs, not to geminated consonants.

Sonorant consonants are sometimes pronounced as syllables, usually in coda position where the preceding vowel would have been reduced to a schwa. These consonants are marked with a cedilla or an apostrophe bellow.

English assumes certain pronunciation for certain letters. For example c sounds /k/ in all positions, except before front vowels, when the sound is /s/. But there are exceptions. The first c in Celtic is pronounced with /k/, while the second in Curacao will be /s/. These differences are marked in Artspelled English.

Standard pronunciation of vowels is usually unmarked if the surrounding orthography is enough to mark length. Otherwise a macron (ˉ) marks the long pronunciation and a breve (˘) the short one.

English vowel system include more than the above ten vowels (i.e. "put", "cause"). Also, the same vowel can be written in several ways (i.e. "cot", "yacht"), and the same writing pattern can represent different sounds: (i.e. "but", "put").
In order to deal with this, Artspelled English include three further diagraphs: acute (´), grave (`), and circumflex (^). The acute will mark a short vowel that is higher or more tensed than the respective breve one. The grave will mark a short vowel that is lower than the respective breve one, and the circumflex will represent and alternative long vowel.
