Helvetia

There the Romance-speaking Helvetians united into a Kingdom and checked the advance of German-speaking peoples in the eighth century. Since then Helvetia (La Jelbatz) has been a fairly agressive yet cowardly mountain kingdom famed for some of the worst cuisine in Europe.

Last year it was in the news after the last king was assassinated and the leader of the armed forces took control for a month or so. It's now a fledgeling democratic republic which minds its own business and still has some pretty awful cuisine.
