Birth and naming

When a child is born, is supposed to belong to the family of his/her mother, but the role of their father is important for his/her formation.  The child is given a proper name by the father, and will use the family name of the mother.

Passage ceremony: stop being a child

Passage ceremonies are not specially elaborated in the Hangkerim culture.

During the passage ceremony is the only social act that is acceptable for a Hangkerimian to be drunk.

Legal adulthood

The legal adulthood is reached when each individual reaches a certain age: 20 years old in Kurimpe, 18 years old in Yelamha.  Any national who reaches this age is a full citizen and is able to vote contract with the state, buy accepted drugs, etc.
